Race Report – North Berwick Novice Triathlon – Sunday 7 May 2017
East Lothian Triathlon Club again hosted a friendly yet competitive event for first time triathletes. 75 women, 48 men and 18 teams of 2 or 3 people took part to complete the challenge of swimming, cycling and running in and around North Berwick. Ages ranged from 8 to 68 years old, with many East Lothian residents taking part as well as visitors from North Uist and Canada.
The event was well supported by the local community and the organisers would like to thank the 30 odd people who helped make the event both safe and enjoyable.

A prize for Sportsmanship was awarded to Joel Enoch for giving up his first male prize due to not seeing himself as a novice. Prizes for perseverance were awarded to young Daniel Shields who despite initial nerves did his family proud with a steady happy swim, and to twins David and Steven Tossell who supported each other to complete the event.
